Here I was just trying to explore the shadow and time of day to create the perfect viewpoint  to see it clearly. 18:41 at the corner of the model

looking through the wall of the largest cube through to the inside. This shows all the smaller boxes within.

from the ground looking up at the inside of the model. possibly a starting point for my animation.

Looking at the overall model from afar to show its entirety. As you can see there are minimal lights but once within the model they seem much bigger and brighter and help to create a disorientation of where exactly you are within absorbing the viewer and creating a fantasy-like scene.

looking down on the model from a birds eye view to clearly show what is within the model and its various parts. However  the model looks very baron in this viewpoint so I will stick to a lower viewpoint or being inside the model.

Lights in cryengine (interim)

incorporating lights into my model really let it shine especially in the dark. The purple colour ties in with the feminine style of the dandelion shards.

looking at the model from within and having a close up in the foreground as well as illustrating the larger scale of the model and the pattern created in the walls in the background. Also playing with the purple colour during the day and how it effects the model.
Also the close up of this shows the pixelation on the sphere due to the texture so I will go through and refine this.

Looking at the shadows created by my model in the terrain and well as the colour of the light shadows (purple shadows). Also the mass of the overall composition and how I have added in a number of smaller cubes within the largest cube. These are at differing angles and scale.

1st export of sketch up model into Cryengine

whole model, repeated with one smaller cube inside another.

close up of the sticks within the wall.

exploring shadow through different times of the day and sunlight.

Again exploring different times of the day and the contrasting colour of the sunset compared with the texture on my model. Testing out different areas to view the model fro. Thinking about how the viewer will move through the model.

Initial google sketch up development

first development of contrast model creating a pattern for the walls of my model
2nd development creating and overall cube form
exporting the sketch up model as one wall rather than a whole form as it took to long and then just repeating the wall once in cryengine. I have also added sticks that will interact and move through the wall illustrating its hollow nature.

Flow graph of continuous movement

Design Intentions

I want the viewer to feel absorbed by the overall form. I also want to create an ethereal atmosphere so will use very slow movement to make it as if you're floating in the sky. The sticks will move back and forth through the cage while the dandelion pieces turn. Possibly the wall breaking off into pieces or coming together at the start. The smaller forms will also rotate. The music incorporated will be classical to create a fantasy scene reminiscent of a ballerina jewellery box.
